Bring data together
Maintain product identifiers, material information, origin, manufacturing notes and supporting references in organised records.
CURRENT DPPILOT CAPABILITYDPPILOT / EU REGULATORY READINESS
European Digital Product Passport requirements are being introduced progressively. You do not have to postpone product-data preparation while sector-specific rules evolve. DPPilot provides practical software for organising product information and publishing QR-linked records today.
01 / WHAT IS POSSIBLE NOW
Preparing reliable product information can reduce later data-cleanup work. The required passport format, content and verification steps must still be checked for each relevant product category.
Maintain product identifiers, material information, origin, manufacturing notes and supporting references in organised records.
CURRENT DPPILOT CAPABILITYMake approved product information available on public product-specific pages that customers and partners can open by scanning a code.
CURRENT DPPILOT CAPABILITYReview gaps, assign data ownership and determine which records need updating as the rules for your sector develop.
READINESS WORKFLOW02 / THE EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK
The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) defines an independent DPP service provider, but a formal recognition procedure and official EU list of verified DPP service providers do not yet exist. Selling product-data software does not, by itself, require such a recognition. Any future regulated DPP service will need to comply with the rules then applicable to that sector and service.
The European Commission currently expects to establish provider eligibility and other requirements through an ESPR delegated act around Q2–Q3 2027. This is an indicative timeline, not an existing accreditation or permission granted to DPPilot.
Regulatory position reviewed: 26 October 2026, informed by written guidance from the European Commission DPP Registry Help Desk.
Defines DPP service providers and the EU framework for product-passport requirements, digital access and technical operation.
Read the official regulation ↗Sets out identity verification and conditional third-party provisions. Third-party registration is possible only where relevant EU law permits it. The current Registry onboards verified economic operators, not third-party service providers.
Read the official implementing regulation ↗No universal third-party certification of all DPP information is currently required. Future product-specific rules may require further checks.
Read the Commission's FAQ ↗03 / HOW RESPONSIBILITIES WORK
We distinguish between the tools we deliver today and the formal responsibilities that remain with the applicable economic operator.
The manufacturer, importer or other responsible economic operator must determine the applicable sector rules, substantiate information and meet product-compliance obligations.
Qavirio can supply tools to structure, manage and publish product data within the functionality and service commitments agreed with the customer.
Official Registry registration currently remains an action for the relevant verified economic operator. The Registry does not yet offer a delegation workflow for DPP service providers. Future third-party registration depends on both the sector legislation and the Registry introducing the required process; battery DPPs currently do not provide this authorisation route.
04 / QUESTIONS WE HEAR
These answers reflect the rules and the Commission DPP Registry Help Desk guidance as of October 2026. Sector obligations and Registry access rules must be verified again before any formal compliance engagement.
Yes. Businesses may use software to prepare structured product records and publish QR-linked product information, subject to ordinary contractual, data-protection and other applicable legal requirements. That does not, by itself, fulfil an official DPP obligation.
No. DPPilot is not presented as certified, accredited or approved by the European Commission and does not currently claim official EU Registry registration.
There is no current general EU recognition or certification process for DPP service providers. The ESPR may introduce specific service-provider requirements and, where appropriate, certification. DPPilot is not certified or approved by the European Commission. We only offer our existing data-management and QR-publication capabilities, subject to ordinary legal and contractual requirements.
No. According to the European Commission's DPP Registry Help Desk, there is currently no third-party delegation workflow in the Registry, and onboarding of verified value chain actors is planned for a later release. The battery framework does not currently allow this third-party registration route. DPPilot provides product-data preparation and QR-linked publication, not official Registry registration.
No. Early preparation can help organise identifiers, sources and documentation, but future product-specific rules could require additional information, technical changes, formal verification or registration.
